The Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida, HCN will be providing the children of Youth Haven with free dental screenings onboard their Health & Smiles Mobile. Screening will be done by HCN hygienists and dentists who will be taking the Mobile Dental Unit to the Youth Haven campus to provide cleanings, fillings, etc. The mobile unit will continue to visit the children of Youth Haven to provide dental screenings.
The dental screenings will benefit the children in Youth Haven’s Emergency Shelter and our clients from our other three programs. The Emergency Shelter is Collier County’s only residential shelters for children ages 6-17 who have been removed from their homes due to abused, neglected or abandoned. Besides the Emergency Shelter Youth Haven has three other programs, The Children and Family Counseling Center which is open to the public and provides an array of individual and group mental health services for people of all ages. The Family Support and Prevention Services help to provide educational, evidence- and curriculum-based prevention to local children and at risk families. Finally, The Teen Homeless and Transitional Living Program which is a one of a kind program that addresses the issue of the community’s homeless teenage population, in a safe, compassionate and accepting environment.Tags: Children of Youth Haven, HCN, Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida, Mobile Dental Unit
