Naples, Fl (July 24, 2019). Youth Haven, Inc. is pleased to welcome famed chef, Kevin Takei to its campus during the week of July 22, 2019. While Youth Haven’s resident chef is on vacation, Chef Takei is volunteering his time and talent to prepare numerous meals for the children and teens the organization supports. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Takei has an extensive background under his belt, including stints at the Four Seasons Hotel, Newport Beach; Four Seasons Resort, Maui at Wailea; the Shores Resort and Restaurant at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club; The Putney Inn of Vermont; the Naples Beach Resort and Spa; and Crave Culinaire. At present, Takei works freelance, working different opportunities as they arise. Since 2018 he has twice worked the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah as the executing Chef for My World on a Plate. Their clients included Amazon Films, Netflix Classics, Chase Bank, CAA and Wu Tang Clan. Also with My World, he was the executing Chef of the movie premier of Antman and the Wasp on Hollywood Boulevard for 900 people in the Ohm Nightclub. He also led the team in Rancho Santa Fe for the 500 person wedding of Kaley Cuoco, star of the Big Bang Theory. Takei has received the prestigious AAA 5 Diamond Restaurant Award as well as the DiRona and Hale Aina Award. In regard to his style, Kevin said, “My goal is to provide a cuisine that explodes with flavor. I wish to present innovative culinary ideas that reflect menus with cross-cultural influences. America is the “Great Melting Pot” and my cuisine reflects that international influence.”
